What to expect from Singapore Cocktail Festival 2018

Singapore Cocktail Week is back in May! There'll be over 25 local participating bars, 20 artisanal spirits brands, and 12 celebrity guest bartenders giving you their best so you won't ever find yourself in a dull moment. To sum it all up, here are eight things you can expect from this year's edition.

1. Bar pop-ups
Some of Singapore's most popular bars like Astor Bar, Elixir Bar, Kult Kafe, Nutmeg & Clove, Smoke & Mirrors and more will be at Festival Village. There'll even be guest bartenders from Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, China, Thailand, Philippines, Indonesia, Australia and Malaysia.

2. Fun workshops
Participate in various workshops like the Kyrö Distillery Company's Gin Blending class where connoisseurs get to learn about gin-making and have a chance to bring their own concoction home. There'll also be a workshop led by Sasha Wijidessa of Operation Dagger on the origins of fermentation.

3. Bartending competitions
The Asia Bar Battle will have bartending teams from Singapore, Vietnam, Malaysia and more competing for the best cocktail invention using their creativity, speed and mystery ingredients.

4. Food galore!
In the Festival Village, there's a little place called Food Street featuring all types of cuisines prepared by restaurants such as Ninja Bowl and Ninja Cut, The Astronauts Group, Sinfonia Ristorante, and Zhui Hong Lou.

5. Music performances
The entertainment for the event is provided by a stellar line-up of musicians. Expect DJ Brendon P (who is resident DJ at Singapore's CE LA VI), Ramesh K and Kenneth F to turn the place up.

6. Beauty treats
Festival Village will also include free shaves for men at the pop-up booth by We Need a Hero! The ladies can go for henna tattoos done by WendyPeachesHenna.

The Cocktail Passport is available at $15 nett at the Festival Village while Festival Village ticket holders will receive the Cocktail Passport for free.
