Gin Jubilee 2016 Goes Regional

Gin Jubilee 2016 Goes Regional

Asia’s premier gin festival East Imperial Gin Jubilee is expanding the festivities to include individual jubilees in Kuala Lumpur, Hong Kong, Phnom Penh, Bangkok and Singapore this year.

The aim of East Imperial Gin Jubilee is to bring people together across a range of different venues so they can sample creative variations of the classic Gin & Tonic and to explore gin culture.

Each city jubilee is a multi-day series of gin-related activities, from master classes to pop ups, gin rambles, gin tastings, live stream distillery visits and the now-legendary Gin Lane closing parties. Overall attendance at the East Imperial Gin Jubilee 2016 is likely to top 30,000 people. Each city’s jubilee calendar of activities will be published on the East Imperial Gin Jubilee website and social media Facebook, Instagram, Twitter.

Bars from the region will be competing by creating unique Gin & Tonic renditions. Each bar will pair one of the four East Imperial tonic waters with a partner gin brand, the rest of the recipe is then up to the individual bartender who is given free rein to showcase their creativity. One bar and one bartender will be crowned the participating city’s “Best Gin & Tonic”. The “Best Gin & Tonic” winning bartenders from each city will travel to Singapore in November to compete for the ultimate crown of “Asia’s Best Gin & Tonic” at the jubilee grand finale.

The competition is by vote from the consumers on Instagram with official hashtag #GinJubilee2016. The best Instagram post of each city’s jubilee will be selected by the jubilee panel, and winners will receive a 3-night trip to Singapore to take part in “Asia’s Best Gin & Tonic” grand finale.
