It’s that time of year, when Singapore Cocktail Festival takes over Singapore from the 10th to the 18th of May with a week’s worth of festivities for everything related to cocktails, spirits, and food.
This year is billed to be a larger than ever programme, that includes the launch of the trade-immersion #SGCFBarAcademy (a platform for discussion of key topics and knowledge exchange among the bar community) and the Barstylez International Bartender Championship (where bartenders compete in Flairing and Cocktail making challenges), in addition to the boisterous Festival Village with popups from award-winning bars, an Artisanal Spirits Tasting Room, and the ever-popular Food Street.
Kicking off the whole event will be the Asia’s 50 Best Bars awards ceremony on the 9th, which will definitely see a lot of attention from not only the Singaporean bars and bartenders, but also those visiting from the region (and beyond).
This SGCF will also be the first year that sees a focus on environmental sustainability, where they’re advocating for biodegradable drinkware (cups, straws, etc), as well as replacing bottled water and using recycled Tetra-paks instead.
Early bird tickets are on sale from 1st to 28th of February, at SG$30 (normal priced tickets are SG$35) for a one-day pass that includes a welcome drink. Check out the website for more information on the Festival Village and further activities around the city during Singapore Cocktail Festival.
