Glenfiddich is changing the game for whisky making by introducing an experimental series to their core range. The project involves working with drinks experts through collaborations. You will see that not only whisky experts are invited to chip in their expertise, but also a beer brewer and perhaps also experts from other drinks segments.
#1 of the series is exactly that, a whisky-beer collaboration that uses cross barrel-ageing with an India Pale Ale finish to the expression.
Glenffiddich IPA Experiment 43% ABV 700ml (£45.00) – A collaboration between Master Blender Brian Kinsman and Speyside Craft Brewery's Seb Jones where the craft beer brewer aged their India Pale Ale (IPA) in the Glenfiddich casks and then returned the same casks empty for the single malt to complete its finish.
#2 is a daring experiment that combines characters of 20 personalities from the Glenfiddich family.
Project XX (pronounced as twenty) 47% ABV 700ml (£50.00) – A blend of casks selected by 20 brand ambassadors from 16 countries. Master Blender Brian Kinsman then created a new expression that comprises the original Glenfiddich’s warm summer fruity flavours and personalities from the 20 cask selectors. This will be an ongoing expression.
#3 remains a secret to date but each batch will always be different.
Although Glenfiddich has an online shop, they are shipping only within the UK for now. So stay tuned to our update and hope that William Grant & Sons APAC Brand Ambassador, Matthew Fergusson-Stewart will bring us some goods new soon.
