The organisation behind The World’s 50 Best Bars and Asia’s 50 Best Bars is partnering with Perrier Carbonated Natural Mineral Water in an overreaching programme, 50 Best for Recovery, which gathers funds to provide financial relief for the hospitality industry as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic.
The recovery fund is backed by founding donor Perrier and two activations.
The first activation is through public donations from downloading an e-cookbook released on 1st July 2020, Home Comforts: simple lockdown recipes from the world’s best chefs and bartenders, featuring cocktail pairings from 50 Best bartenders, at a minimum USD10 donation per download.
The other activation is through the Bid for Recovery Auction, which is a pool of 160 experiences donated by bars and restaurants around the world for bidding on the 50 Best’s site. These experiences offer cocktail, food and travel enthusiasts the chance to bid between 3rd to 12th July 2020 (Sunday) and ends by 9.30pm BST (4.30am Malaysia/Singapore time).
The funds raised from these initiatives will be spent on World’s 50 Best Recovery CIC, a not for profit interest company to distribute through Direct Grants to bars and restaurants, non-profit organisations supporting hospitality businesses and their staff, and joins forces with Social Gastronomy Movement to provide 1 million meals to those most in need.
Funds will be allocated to qualified independent restaurants and bars by end of July 2020. Find out how to be funded from their website.
The website also hosts a Recovery Hub that offers advice, information and inspiration for the community. A virtual Recovery Summit will also be hosted in October 2020 on a yet to be confirmed date. Also, check out #PastTheShaker on Instagram for signature drinks tutorials by World’s 50 Best Bars.
Tong Woh Enterprise has been appointed the sole distributor for Perrier in Malaysia.
