The perfect date can be a simple affair … or you can choose to go all out and break the bank. Either way, it’s the person you’re with who makes it all worth it. That being said, it can’t hurt to find a place with great food and drinks. We’ve rounded up a few must-try date spots based on different budgets … for two, of course.
Coffee in Love Café
Budget: RM25
How could we not add this quaint little café to our list of romantic places to head to this Valentine’s? Not only is love in their name, the setting is really cosy, allowing for couples to canoodle over a cuppa and maybe a slice of cake. This little spot nestled amid the lush greens of a plant nursery is quite hidden away, so you’ll be able to spend uninterrupted quality time with your other half. Their Colombian coffee beans are imported directly from roasters and each cup is freshly-ground, ensuring great coffee every time. Additionally, pick from a range of homemade cakes, baked in small batches for quality and freshness.

Ril’s@The Warehouse
Budget: RM300
For an artsy evening of delectable dining, whisk your sweetie away to this beautifully restored colonial building in the heart of Chinatown. On the bottom floor you’ll find a trendy art gallery showcasing local talent. Sip on a cocktail as you lounge in the gallery café soaking in the art, then climb up the stairs to the swanky steak restaurant. Opt for the 750g rib steak that is large enough for two. The meat is melt-in-the-mouth perfection, with a gorgeous sear. For dessert you’ll want the sinful chocolate fondant with The Last Polka’s salted Gula Melaka ice cream. The play on chocolate and salt will have you both smiling, which we are sure will prolong the night.
