You don’t have to splurge on your next night out. Here’s a list of bars to drink cheap (and good) cocktails at.
Pahit
Pahit’s primary focus here is gin. At RM26, you’ll get refreshing sous-vide fruit-infused gin and tonics featuring familiar flavours. The lemongrass and kaffir lime hits all the tangy notes with a sweet finish, but if you’re going for something sweet, the lychee and ginger flower is for you. You can also try other flavour combos of pomelo and elderflower, pineapple and basil, and the crowd pleaser, calamansi and asamboi.

Coley
Sister bar of previously mentioned Pahit, pay attention to the ‘Koktel’ menu here. At RM20 and RM25, you’ll get a variety of cocktails highlighting local ingredients as the main star. Go for the Rum and Ambarella (Angostura gold rum, calamansi, ambarella, Angostura bitters and asamboi) that comes with a familiar taste of kat chai suen mui, or keep it simple with the Gin and Coconut (Beefeater London Dry gin and fresh coconut water).

Ril’s
Particularly for gin lovers, if you’re looking for a fuss free drink at an affordable price, Ril’s is your go-to place. Every Wednesday, as part of their ‘Classic Wednesdays’, the gin and tonic goes for only RM20++. They use Beefeater gin here; a London dry gin with notes of juniper and citrus.

The Vault
Magic hour drinks come at a friendly fare at The Vault with a selection of cocktails going for only RM19. Pick your poison from a selection of five cocktails including Clover Club, Passionfruit Martini, Whisky Marmalade Sour – we like how The Vault adds their own twist to the classic cocktails available here. The magic hours here are from 5pm to 8.30pm, daily.

The Locker & Loft
Not only does The Locker & Loft champion local ingredients in their cocktails, they get crafty with their concoctions here too. The Teh-Ow! Ais-Limau comes with a combination of earl grey tea-infused vodka and pandan syrup while the MadAsghar has homemade rose syrup, red apple and lime juice, and the Olivier combines both basil and olive oil-infused gin with lime. Each of these cocktails are priced at RM25.

AD Bar Bangsar
AD Bar keeps the cheap cocktails coming with two different promos here. First, the Monthly Star Cocktail highlights new creations by the bartender. If you like it, the cocktail becomes the ‘star’ of the month for only RM20, and if you really like it, it might be a new addition on the menu. On Wednesdays, ladies should head on over to AD Bar where you’ll get selected cocktails at RM10 all night long.

Mantra Bar KL
Upgrade your after work drinks with a view at Mantra Bar with RM20 cocktails during their happy hour promotion. Choose between an Agua Fresca, Strawberry Bliss, Thai Collins or stick to the classics of a Margarita, Mojito or Whisky sour. The promo is available from 4.30pm to 7pm on weekdays only.
