Where to go for boozy brunches

Brunch is a wonderful affair and even more so when you get to have a glass of bubbly with your favourite, comfort meal. So, we rounded up these places in town where you can go with your friends or families.

The Brasserie, St Regis KL
The highlights of this brunch include an array of fresh seafood, foie gras, homemade pasta, as well as oysters. The buffet brunch is accompanied by a cheese bar and mouth-watering desserts. While you sip and dine at The Brasserie, a live jazz band will provide entertainment for the afternoon.

One of Troika Sky Dining's most popular spots is Cantaloupe which promises stunning views of KLCC park and the Twin Towers. Needless to say, your brunch is taken to a whole new level of posh. The sumptuous menu includes fresh oysters, fish ceviche, baby squid with garlic butter, crouton and arugula, roasted onion soup, and grilled marinated barramundi with mizuna, crispy onion and radish. Hungry yet? We know we are. You even get to pick from desserts like merveilleux, apricot clafoutis, key lime pie, tarte tatin, mixed berry panna cotta, and vanilla bavarois to end your meal with.

Drift Dining & Bar

Every Sunday, the team at Drift & Dining Bar serves up different food menus. It's not buffet style but in sharing platters so as to encourage you to bring your friends. The food selection changes every month but not the bubbly selection.

Prices start from 350++ for free flow of Cava and food, RM250++ for free flow wine, beer and Bloody Mary and food, and RM120++ for food only. Available only on the first Sundays of every month from 12pm to 4pm. To make reservations, call +603 2110 2079 and check out this month's menu here.

El Cerdo

You'll be spoiled for choice here! Choose your meal from Spanish cold cuts like jamon, chorizo, lomo, salchicho or go for the pork, ribs or cheese platters full of manchego, gruyere, feta and goat. And that's just for starters. For mains, you get a sausage platter, a selection of pasta and a variety of cooked meats. Brunch is available every Sunday from 12pm to 2.30pm.

We love a brunch with a sense of humour, so when W Hotel Kuala Lumpur launched their RETOX Sunday Brunch we couldn't help ourselves. The once-monthly extravegant brunch spread is all ethically and locally sourced, and includes sashimi (pictured), freshly baked breads and pastries, artisanal cheeses and chocolates, to be enjoyed against a soundtrack provided by W Music Curator Victor G.

La Cave

Both La Cave outlets in Bangsar and Mont Kiara are offering 3-course meals with free flow of Veuve Clicquot at RM350 nett per person. There's also an option of Cava sparkling wine at RM250 nett per person. To make reservations, call +603 6206 2588. Available every Sunday from 11.30am to 3pm.

Mr Chew's Chino Latino Bar

The hotspot at WOLO Bukit Bintang is offering a range of little plates, soups with dumplings, main courses, sides and desserts as part of its brunch menu. Indulge in the eatery's Ohba leaf, beansprout kimchi, grilled coconut chicken plates or its twice-cooked crispy duck pancakes.

The menu is priced at RM140+ per person excluding beverages. A selection of red wine, white wine, sparkling wine, and orange wine is available for brunch at their respective prices. Available every Sunday from 12pm to 3pm. Call +603 4065 0168 for reservations.

Prego, The Westin Kuala Lumpur

At Prego, guests get to choose from grilled meats, fresh seafood, and from an antipasto buffet to satisfy your cravings. Besides free flow of Moët and Chandon champagne, guests will also get a free flow of red and white wine, draught beer, soft drinks and chilled juices. There are also brunch deals for those who aren't interested in a bit of bubbly. It happens every Sunday at 11.30am to 2.30pm and families with children get free access to The Westin Kids Club.

Serena Brasserie, Intercontinental KL

Intercontinental Hotel is hosting a brunch buffet for the entire family as there will be kids’ activities in the bouncy castle while the adults get to indulge in the fresh seafood, premium BBQ grilled meats and decadent desserts. Of course, there's also a free flow of drinks.
