The striking red Italian aperitivo has brought back the Campari Red Hands Competition first launched in 2018. In search for the next aperitivo icon, the 2024 theme “Cocktail & Senses” directs the bars to come up with creations that could extend the branches of Negroni Tree such as Americano, Boulevardier and Sbagliato.

What’s different in this revived competition, is the single entry to a 3-person team, recognising that collaborative effort is an integral part of most bar menus today. Therefore two more ground rules on top of using Campari in the creations, are the incorporation of one or more of five dedicated senses, i.e. sight, smell, taste, touch and sound, and that they should be the representative of their bar's philosophy.

Teams representing their bars will go through 3 rounds local showdown where one winning team will represent their bar in the grand final in Milan.

Round 1

Each team is to come up with at a recipe and submit a video showing off one of the creation with the competition theme which is senses: sight, sound, smell, touch & taste.

Round 2

15 bars are selected from Round 1 to showcase their Campari cocktail from Round 1 plus one or more cocktails in the bar’s capsule menu from 30 July to 29 August in Malaysia, and from 16 July to 16 August in Singapore.

“Then the selection of the five bars which will proceed to Round 3 is decided by a panel of 3 judges: a Campari brand representative, a bar industry expert and a media, visiting each bar running their capsule menu and judged based on any 2 cocktails from the menu,” explained Giri Pancha, Campari Group Brand Ambassador for Malaysia.
