When Hurricane Sandy hit New Jersey, it caused an insurmountable amount of damage to the American city. But rather than lick their wounds, a Jersey based brewing company called Flying Fish Brewery Company is stepping up to the plate to give the infamous Hurricane a huge F.U in the form of a limited run ale.
Now before you read too much into it, the F.U.Sandy limited edition beer actually stands for ‘Forever Unloved’ and stands as a wheat-pale ale, which believe it or not, was inspired by the storm. The Flying Fish Brewery Company will be producing the beer to help aid the rebuilding of the city with 100% of the proceeds of the beer going to New Jersey Sandy victims.
“At Flying Fish, we proudly hail from the great state of New Jersey, so when tragedy struck, we knew immediately that we wanted to do something to help” offered Flying Fish founder Gene Muller in the official release. “Every single aspect of this beer, from the man-hours spent brewing it to the hops used to season it to the kegs that will contain it, has been donated so every cent brought in goes to Superstorm Sandy victims,” he added.
Flying Fish Brewery Company is expected to produce around 100 kegs of F.U. Sandy which is estimated to rake in about US$50,000 for the Sandy Charity.
