Singapore, June 30, 2023 - Flor De Caña, the world's first Carbon Neutral and Fair Trade Certified spirit hailing from Nicaragua, proudly announces the revival of its annual Sustainable Cocktail Challenge 2023. This initiative is born from the brand's ongoing mission to instill sustainable practices within the bar industry, paving the way for a more eco-conscious and responsible future.
A Global Bartending Endeavor
This year's challenge draws bars from across the globe, with over 200 venues in Southeast Asia alone participating. From July 1 to July 31, 2023, these venues will craft sustainable cocktails featuring Flor De Caña 12, competing at local, regional, and international levels for the coveted title of Flor De Caña’s Sustainability Champion, complete with a grand prize of US$10,000.
The Sustainable Cocktail Challenge 2023
Building on the success of the Zero Waste Cocktail Month in 2021 and 2022, Flor De Caña's 2023 edition upholds the mission of responsible consumption and reduced food waste. Participating bars will present exclusive sustainable cocktails infused with creative techniques that revolve around sustainable ingredients and upcycling.
All participating bars will be inducted into the Flor De Caña Sustainable Society, providing access to educational sessions, a sustainability bar manual, and a chance to feature in the annual Flor De Caña Sustainable Cocktails Recipe Book.
Local champions stand to win flight tickets to the APAC Regionals, Venue Sustainability Assessments, and enrollment in an exclusive exchange program for international guest shifts and masterclasses.
A Journey to the Top
After the local campaign month and a virtual judging round, the Top 10 finalists will compete to advance to the APAC Regional finals and eventually the Global final in Nicaragua in 2024 for the title of Flor De Caña World’s Most Sustainable Bartender, with a grand prize of US$10,000.
