If you are looking for a great experience, this is a chance you don’t want to miss. Why, you ask? Because our Food Series begins this month! We will be going to selected restaurants around Kuala Lumpur each month to pair the best items on their menu with two beers by award winning brand, Brooklyn Brewing from New York, USA.
This 6-month-long food trail starts on 27th July at Burnin’ Pit, the latest BBQ joint in Sri Hartamas for their fall-off-the-bones mouth-watering wood smoked BBQ meats.
We will be having the BBQ platter piled with beef brisket, beef ribs, pulled lamb with buns and southern slaw to go with Brooklyn Lager. This amber lager has a sweet malty body that stands up to the meats while the floral hop notes will cleanse your palate to prepare for the next bite whilst also complementing the house made BBQ sauces, including a Gula Melaka sauce, for you to choose from.
Then we’ll have Burnin’ Pit’s Brisket Fried Rice and Percik Chicken to go with Brooklyn East IPA which is clean, well-balanced with a bright, fruity flavour while still maintaining the signature hoppiness of an IPA to bring out the spices in the dish. The firm taste of the beer further seals the palate and gives the meal a satisfying finish.
The restaurant is fully booked almost every night for their brisket that’s cooked for 12 to 14 hours in Texas BBQ style to ensure fall-off-the-bone and melt-in-your-mouth tenderness and flavour. The outlet has a smoker which they turn on at 9pm every night, drawing crowds with its enticing meat smoke and also a pull for instagrammers. You will get to meet the owner, Kok Fung, who is the Maker of Meat in Burnin’ Pit.
