This hasn’t been done before, to pair gin with chocolate. We are getting together with renowned local chocolatier, Ning Geng of Chocolate Concierge for a session of gin and chocolate pairing this December. Ning will be presenting his chocolate pieces made to go with three gins: The Botanist, Citadelle and Agricolo Gadan.
The pairing of gin, that’s made with botanicals and spices, is not as straightforward as going with notes that already resemble chocolate characters in brown spirits such as whisky or rum. We are going ahead and doing it anyway, because it’s fun and we just like experimenting. We will also be having Sommelier Justin Ho co-hosting the session with Ning. Justin is one of the three finalists in the Best Sommelier Asia-Oceanic, and will be answering any questions about the spirits that day.
We are having this GinRum.Me Mini-Me session at the new Mrs Jones’ Parlour at Seksyen 17 PJ, a gin and wine bar by the group that formed The Private Room and The Pawn Room in TTDI.
