One of the leading Single Malt Scotch Whisky makers in the world has welcomed a new addition to its Private Edition range which currently consists of limited edition whiskies such as Sonnalta PX, Finealta and Artein. Glenmorangie Ealanta stands as the company’s 19-year-old expression that has join the ranks of the many great tasting Single Malts the Scotch Whisky maker has produced thus far.
The Single Malt stands as a unique addition to the long range of Single Malts that Glenmorangie has produced thus far as it’s matured in virgin American white oak casks. The 46% ABV Single Malt is also non chill-filtered and reportedly boasts a bouquet of soft toffee, butterscotch and vanilla as well as strong hints of stewed fruits and menthol notes.
Tasting notes also state that the Scotch offers hints of candied orange peel, sugar coated almonds and sweet vanilla with a smooth virgin oak finish interlaced with spices such as clove, ginger and aniseed. It does sound lovely doesn’t it? But the sad bit about the Ealanta is that for now it looks to be sold in limited numbers in only key markets, such as the U.S.
It’s been reported that Glenmorangie has only produced 1500 9L cases of the 19-year-old Single Malt exclusively for the U.S. market. There has been no official word yet on how many cases have been made available for other markets such as Asia.
