Glenmorangie has formed a collaboration with Renovo to produce bicycles out of their used casks, inspired by a shared passion for innovation with wood. The project produces limited edition machines that integrate history from the 10-year-old wood and extreme engineering. It is an emerging style of bicycle that harkens to the past while speaking to the future of riding.

The American oak ex-bourbon casks of Glenmorangie’s flagship whisky are used only twice, which according to the brand’s tasting notes impart “wonderful wood notes of vanilla, almond, coconut and honey”. Using smooth-riding hollow frame technology and longbow seatstays made for rough roads, the frame design is influenced by the shape and curves of the cask staves. Each bicycle uses about 15 staves in the frame. It is also fitted with 700 x 28mm tires which can be swapped to tires up to 400mm wide for adventure rides.

The Launch edition
Equipped with a full-carbon thru-axle fork, Shimano Ultegra shifting and braking systems, lightweight and aerodynamic Velocity wheels and a lightweight and comfortable FSA cockpit.

The Prestige Edition
Equipped with Shimano’s flagship Dura-Ace system with electronic shifting and hydraulic braking, complimented by Rolf Prima carbon-filter wheels and a carbon fibre FSA cockpit.

Renovo Hardwood Bicycles is the pioneer of the first engineered hollow hardwood bicycle frames in Portland, Oregon. The company was founded in 2007 by Ken Wheeler, a designer and manufacturer of composite airplanes.
