Haig Club Single Grain Scotch Whisky recently hosted a cocktail mixing workshop with members of the media and chose one winner as the cocktail of the month. This cocktail will be served in Sparrow Bar, PS150, Ojos Bar and Quivo, Pavilion for a month from mid- May 2016 onwards.
Taking place in Sparrow Bar KL, the Oriental Mix themed workshop was led by Shawn Chong who explained the ingredients which he would use to concoct a cocktail with the Single Grain Whisky. Guests were given the opportunity to learn about cocktail making techniques such as how to handle bar tools with Shirmy Chan and Joel John Timis, while also re-creating Haig Club Shanghai featured cocktails - Red Date Old Fashioned and Roberto Roy.
Members of the media were paired in teams of two to create their Oriental version of the Haig Club Shanghai cocktail using ingredients available at the bar. One cocktail was then selected by the two judges present at the workshop that day, Haig Club Malaysia Ambassador Tiong Sue Lynn and Shawn Chong, based on three criteria: taste, authenticity and presentation.
The winning cocktail in this workshop was Coco Club (far left in main pic.) co-created by Lainey Loh (Hype.my) and Grace Lim (Focus Malaysia). Visit the selected outlets for this cocktail from mid- May 2016 onwards. These bars will also be featuring specially-crafted HAIG CLUB™ cocktails throughout the month.
