It’s 10 days to Christmas and we are stoked to have received the Hennessy Very Special Shaker Cocktail Set inspired by The Art of the Apothecary.
This limited time gift set comes with a 700ml Hennessy V.S. bottle and a copper coloured top shaker that can make a 250ml single serve cocktail. With measuring lines inscribed on the shaker, a rubber banded stopper and copper colour lid, the vessel allows easy and convenient cocktail making with no spillage.
If you prefer Hennessy V.S.O.P, there is also the Oh So Classic Cocktail Set that comes with a 700ml bottle of Hennessy V.S.O.P and a jigger. Both sets are available in premium supermarkets.
We have used the Hennessy Very Special Shaker Cocktail set to make some drinks that would be apt for Christmas, be it for alone time or with your loved ones. They are simple, punchy and warms the heart of any sipper. Here you go:
Honey Sidecar
60ml Cognac
25ml Lemon juice
25ml Honey
Instructions:
1. Put all ingredients in the shaker and top up with ice.
2. Shake holding the shaker with your forefinger pressing down on the lid to secure.
3. Shake until chilled, strain and serve in a coupe or a wine glass.
4. Press the lemon rind over the glass to release the oil.
5. Garnish with a lemon twist
Cognac Manhattan
60ml Hennessy V.S.
25ml Red vermouth
2 dashes Bitters
Instructions:
1. Put all ingredients in the shaker and top up with ice.
2. Stir the ingredients with a chopstick until chilled. Alternatively, shake several seconds until you’re happy with the amount of dilution.
3. Pour into a rock glass with an ice ball or ice cubes.
Secret Santa
60ml Hennessy V.S.
25ml Spice rum
15ml Honey
15ml Lemon juice
2 Strawberries
Instructions:
1. Muddle one strawberry in a bowl with a fork until mushy then pour into the shaker.
2. Put all ingredients in the shaker and top up with ice.
3. Shake vigorously until chilled.
4. Serve in a tumbler.
5. Garnish with a strawberry. Munch on it with every sip.
