The Macallan has been introducing its sensorial experience in cities that share their love for whiskies. After K11 Musea in Hong Kong and The Raffles in Singapore, Malaysia’s very own sensorial experience now resides in the prestigious address of St. Regis Kuala Lumpur.
The partnership with an at least 2-year tenure promises a bespoke experience at Astor Bar featuring only the crème de la crème that the hotel and the Scotch whisky house have to offer.
The M Room
A space for exclusive and private tastings, the room is decorated with floor-to-ceiling cabinets and features three magnificent Terry O’Neill portraits of the original rat pack - American actor and singer Dean Martin preparing to go on stage at a Las Vegas night club in 1971, Sammy Davis Jr. during rehearsals at the Pigalle nightclub in London in 1961 and Frank Sinatra at the Royal Albert Hall in London in 1967.
The room is available for private bookings for up to 20 pax.
The Red Collection
Displayed within the M Room of Astor Bar is the oldest and rarest collection owned by St Regis Kuala Lumpur, The Red Collection, which features some of the oldest ongoing expressions ever offered by The Macallan aged expressions, as well as high-aged guest releases. The only complete and unrivalled set owned and on display in Asia, St Regis’ collection comprises of exclusive rare bottles from The Macallan’s archives of 40YO, 50YO, 60YO, 71YO, 74YO and 78YO in the brand’s signature red. Overlooking the collection are illustrations of The Macallan estate and its influential figures.
Whisky flights
Presented in a flight of three tasting portions served in The Macallan crystal nosing glasses, with an option to be served with ‘The Macallan Serving Ritual’ as well as clear whisky ice balls made with The Macallan Ice Ball Maker.
The guided experience comes in various vintages and ranges which can be paired with a series of canapés and chocolate bonbons handcrafted by Executive Pastry Chef Gael Moutet, inspired by The Macallan whisky tasting notes like vanilla, raisins, coconut, orange and more.

Set up for only 4 days and open to the public, the Time Tunnel tells the history of The Macallan and the values they hold in whisky making.
Sit down in the comfy leather seated cinema next door at The Screening Room to The Macallan’s latest storytelling video themed “Make The Call”. Follow the cue on the short film for the tasting of The Macallan 12YO Double Cask and 12YO Sherry Oak and watch two inspiring real life stories told.
