Negroni Week this year is set to run from 14th to 20th September 2020.
The global Negroni Week celebration this year will be digital-only focused, and the initiative started by Imbibe Magazine and Campari will concentrate their fund raising to support the hospitality industry in the United States, Canada and Australia.
On the Malaysia front, Campari and Remy Cointreau Malaysia have come together with Wholly Spirits to produce two Negroni Week Sets with a portion of the proceeds going to a charity. Consumers can purchase these sets from Wholly Spirits retail store (Wisma CKL, Desa Sri Hartmas Kuala Lumpur) or online from 12pm on 9th until 20th September 2020.
The two sets highlight the combination of Campari and Cinzano 1757 Rosso Vermouth, and the option of either Hendrick’s Gin (Set A) or The Botanist Gin (Set B).
Choose one of two complimentary gifts that comes with each set:
- Cocktail Stirring Set: Bar spoon, bottle opener, mixing glass and a tumbler glass
- Cocktail Shaking Set: Shaker can, cup, Hawthorne strainer and cocktail jigger
A Negroni recipe by Wholly Spirits is included in the sets for consumers to follow:
- 25ml Campari
- 25ml The Botanist Gin
- 20ml Cinzano 1757 Rosso vermouth
- Pour all ingredients directly into a low tumbler (rock glass) filled with ice
- Stir gently
- Garnish with an orange slice
On the trade side, some bars are still participating in the campaign on their own initiative as there are no events taking place in bars and restaurants, hence no bar registrations this year. There will not be a venue list on the website either.
Some outlets such as Atasspeakeasy and Tiga Bar are running their own Negroni Week special.
