The biggest oyster festival in the country since 2008 is back! The festival organised by Southern Rock Seafood Kitchen, also the biggest premium oyster importer in Malaysia, will be occupying not only the restaurant space but also the car park opposite the site.
Malaysian Oyster Shucking Championships
An oyster shucking competition will be held on the day. The champion will represent Malaysia in the upcoming World Oyster Championships in Galway, Ireland and the Shuck Off China World Cup in Beijing. 2017 winner, Fizly Bin Norazlan, will be defending his championship this time with maestro Irish oyster grower, Edward Gallagher as judge. The winner will take home RM1,000 cash prize as well. Get a ring-side spot to watch this competition while enjoying the food and drinks offered at the festival.
The shuckers will be needing oyster eaters too as a team, so get your team together and register your entry on the event day.
Food and drinks
Neighbours on Jalan Kemuja will be joining in to make the festival even more happening. Expect cocktails by award-winning bar Coley, biryani by Fierce Curry house on top of oysters and smoked salmon, fish & chips, seafood paella, and mussels laksa. Guinness will be sold at a special price that day with promotions on white wines to go with your meals. Oysters will be sold from RM6 per piece.
Other activities
The festival is made for a family-day-out with live jazz music, Stanley the Clown to keep the kids entertained, and graffiti artist Iam May who will be completing her mega oyster doodle in real time.
