Malaysia Won the Best Performing Country at Stella Artois Regional Finals

Bartenders representing Malaysia has won the ‘Best Performing Country’ Award during the Stella Artois World Draught Master Regional Finals 2013 at Sofitel So Hotel, Bangkok, Thailand. The competition that took place on the 23rd October 2013 saw 16 contestants from five participating South East Asian countries performing their best knowledge and pouring technique.

Leong Kar Fei, Tang Kum Loong and Ong Poh Wee were among the sixteen contestants and the total of their scores has made Malaysia the highest scoring country in the regional final. They were tested for their knowledge about the brand and the 9-step pouring rituals exclusive to Stella Artois. Scores were also given to two interview questions asked by the judges to determine their passion for the brand.

Winning the last year’s National Champion for the best pour master in Malaysia, Leong Kar Fei has made it again this year. This time, he will be travelling to Cannes, France in May 2014 for the 17th international championship to battle for the “World Draught Master” title.

Missing last year’s chance to go to Canada for the 16th international championship due to unexpected travel documentation issue, we hope it is a smooth process for Kar Fei this time. In the meantime, you can pay a visit to Brussels Café to witness the 9-step pouring ritual peformed by the best pourer in Malaysia.
