Alcohol is no longer just about drinking but rather about profligacy. Luxury liquor brands are getting more extravagant with excessive designs recently. These elaborate beverages are usually synonymy with wealth, status and a stylish way of life. Hot on the heels of the rise of ‘designer’s bottle’, luxury liquor brands have been teaming up with high-end fashion designers to create one-of-a-kind bottles for their brands.

One of the liquor brands which often collaborate with fashion designers is Chivas. They have previously teamed up with Alexander McQueen, Christian Lacroix and more recently with Vivienne Westwood.

In line with the collaboration with Vivienne Westwood, Chivas Regal 18 in Malaysia has also worked with local designers such as Joe Chia, Eric Choong and Beatrice Looi to come out with avant-garde designs for their limited edition bottles.

While Absolut Vodka has worked together with Tom Ford, Gareth Pugh and Stella McCartney to craft special designs for their bottles. With the help of these designers, Absolut Vodka takes stylish-drinking into a whole new level.

Another most sought-after limited edition bottle is the Martini Gold by Dolce & Gabbana. Designed by the duo of the fashion powerhouse, Martini Gold is a true reflection of high-end luxury lifestyle.

While Jean Paul Gaultier worked with Piper-Heidsieck Champagne to fashion a Can-Can bottle dressed in black fishnet stockings and red latex. In 2009, famed designer Christian Louboutin has also designed for Piper-Heidsieck. The crystal stiletto wineglass is to celebrate the Belle Epoque tradition of drinking Champagne from a woman’s shoe.
