For the first time ever, Sydney will welcome the Sugarcane Sunday rum festival from 8th to 14th April.
The week-long celebration of all things rum will include masterclasses, competitions, and specialty cocktails (Daiquiri Towers, Piña Coladas, and Rum Swizzles, oh my) held across the city, culminating in Sugarcane Sunday at Customs House Bar (Macquarie Pl Park) where you can taste (and maybe even purchase) over 100 rums in a pop up market and indulge your tiki side. Talk to the people making and importing rum in Australia, and learn a thing or two about how the industry works from those in the know.
Tickets can be bought online, and are priced at AU$60 for entry (or snap up the AU$35 early bird special until the 7th) and AU$20 for selected masterclasses (all listed here). Check out the Facebook page for more information.
