A whisky event said to be designed “by maltheads for maltheads” is set to showcase over 400 whiskies from 21 exhibitors, with a lineup that includes vintage whiskies from the 1950s to 1980s and sought-after cult Japanese labels.
Entry to the event is $15, and attendees are encouraged to bring their own whisky glasses or purchase a Luigi Bormioli snifter glass for $10 on-site. Each pour (20ml) is priced between $5 and $2000, with 70% of the whiskies available for less than $50 per dram.
Created to foster connection and discovery within the whisky community, the event highlights rare distilleries, special vintages, and collectible spirits. “We celebrate not just the spirit, but the connections it fosters. This is a heartfelt gathering where enthusiasts can share stories, sip remarkable drams, and create lasting memories with like-minded individuals,” shares co-founder Billy Tham. The Malt Affair debuted in 2017, founded by Tham alongside Lucas Tan, Jacky Ye, and Kris Chan.
Attendees can expect exhibitors such as The Single Cask, known for its exclusive single cask bottlings; Catawiki, showcasing rare whiskies like the Bowmore 1956 OB, Longmorn 1969 Cask, Mortlach 1970 16yo Intertrade, and Clynelish 1972; as well as Animal Spirits, Friends with Drams, Proof & Company, Rudder, and Simplywhisky.sg, all bringing signature and vintage collections to this year’s edition.
Whisky enthusiasts will also have the chance to meet personalities from the global whisky scene, including Michiel Wigman, Hideo Yamaoka, Tatsuya Minagawa, Max Righi, and Enrico Gaddoni. Righi will lead three masterclasses, focusing on vintage Macallan verticals and rare Islay whiskies.
