The ghosts of whiskies past

There’s something special about a whisky that can resurrect the spirits of distilleries past. Johnnie Walker Blue Label has been doing just that with the Ghost limited edition collections, the most recent one featuring the highly sought-after Islay single malt Port Ellen – whose doors have been shut since 1983.

Speaking of Ghost, Diageo has partnered with HBO to create the White Walker by Johnnie Walker to commemorate the launch of the new, and last, season of Game of Thrones.

The Ghost collection is crafted using these irreplaceable ‘ghost’ whiskies and other rare whiskies from the Johnnie Walker Blue Label reserves, and it follows in the success of Johnnie Walker Blue Label Ghost and Rare Brora last year. Now, the Johnnie Walker Blue Label Ghost and Rare Port Ellen blends the maritime smokiness of Port Ellen with whiskies from Caledonian and Carsebridge for layers of creamy, vanilla sweetness, together with rare malts from Mortlach, Dailuaine, Cragganmore, Blair Athol, and Oban for notes of waxy citrus and tropical fruits. A truly special experience, bottled at 43.8% ABV.

As this special release is limited edition, each bottle is individually numbered.
