As the end of the year rolled around, so did the final Thirst x Brooklyn Experience event for 2018, this time taking the show to Plaza Arkadia, where Thirst and Brooklyn Beer took over the private mezzanine floor of The Good Guys – the space, Brooklyn (named after the beer), is the only bar in all of Kuala Lumpur to serve the beer on draught, something that media and guests got to experience after being served bottled beer at previous events.

The evening featured familiar face Thomas Teo, Carlsberg’s Commercial Development Manager for Craft & Specialty, as he led the attendees through the history of the brand, how craft beer is made, as well as the two shining stars of Brooklyn Beer: the East IPA and the Lager.

The Brooklyn Mega Pairing Set menu created by TGG featured tasty morsels of Thai cuisine: the Lager was served together with Moo Ping (BBQ Pork) and Salted Egg Chicken to complement the refreshing bitterness and floral hop aroma, while the East IPA came with a spread of TGG Fried Rice Special, TGG Spicy Steam Pork Ribs, and Thai Mango Salad to accentuate the clean, piney aroma.

Between courses guests could let off some Wednesday night steam playing the beanbag toss or painting the enormous paint-by-numbers poster, as well as the impromptu beer pouring competition judged by Teo for the best pour, plus a quiz at the end on Brooklyn Beer where each correct answer came with a Brooklyn Beer tshirt (which were all snapped).

Teo and Editor of Thirst Mag Kim Choong closed the night with a toast to the end of 2018, and an announcement of the last Thirst x Brooklyn Beer event happening in March 2019. Stay tuned for the final edition, you won’t want to miss it.
