Tiger Radler

“Tiger Beer with natural lemon juice to provide consumers with double refreshment” is the tagline for Tiger beer’s latest product – Tiger Radler.

The 2% shandy is a mix of beer and German style lemonade. Radler - cyclist in German language, is a type of Biermischgetränk (meaning mix drinks in German). It refers to a 50:50 or 60:40 mix of beer with sparkling lemon soda. This type of drink is popular during summer time in Europe as a thirst quencher.

According to Tiger Beer Singapore, Radler is said to have been invented by Frank Xaver Kugler in June 1922 when some 13,000 cyclists unexpectedly visited his pub. To prevent his bar from running dry, he added lemon juice to beer.

Tiger Radler is a mix with natural lemon juice and has a distinctive cloudy look. In Malaysia, it is promoted to be a beverage for moderate consumption with family and friends. Launching when Chinese New Year is just about 6 weeks away, the product is seen to target at the festive season. It is suggested to best pair with barbeque, as afternoon drink over spicy meal or chili crab.

Tiger Radler is now available in both cans (330ml and 500ml) and bottles (330ml Pint bottle and 633ml Quartz bottle) Singapore. Find them in supermarkets to convenient stores, restaurants, pubs and clubs in Singapore from end of November onwards.

In Malaysia, Tiger Radler is available only in bottles. It is now available in pubs, bars, restaurants and coffee shops in the Peninsular and by March 2014, in East Malaysia at the same retail price point as Tiger Beer.
