Bruichladdich collaborates with local businesses to give back to local communities

In collaboration with Bruichladdich, the largest private employer on Islay with 80 Ileaches, The Elephant Room and Project Coal will be featuring Indian culture inspired cocktails and dyed Furoshiki cloths to give back to the migrant workers.

Cocktails

Aligned with Bruichladdich's "We Also Make Whisky" global campaign with the philosophy of empowering local communities, The Elephant Room is advocating for Singapore's Indian minority culture and migrant workers.

The four whisky cocktails (S$25 each) on the campaign menu from 27 April to 11 May 2023 will be paired with ingredients sourced from Tekka Centre’s wet market in Little India Singapore.

The aperitif-style Bruch Lady is made with mango, a vital flavour profile in Indian dishes, and Bruichladdich Classic Laddie, served with a green mango stick spiced with chilli powder and finished with a mango leaf garnish.

Spirit forward Golden Glow showcases turmeric, a foundational element used in Indian dishes, which was lacto-fermented with oven-roasted banana, then infused and sous vided with Bruichladdich Islay Barley 2013. It's to be paired with The Elephant Room’s Spiced Chaat, made with chickpea, chaat masala, pomegranate, coriander and onion.

The smoky Black Potion is a replication of masala chai in an alcoholic version that's infused with Himalayan-sourced black salt, citrus honey and garnished with dehydrated orange wheel.

Nightcap Candy Shop is inspired by rose flowers used in Indian religious ceremonies. It's a mix of Bruichladdich Bere Barley 2012 and Bruichladdich Classic Laddie, apple juice, thyme and rose, served with a spritz of rose water and rose petals.

Limited edition Furoshiki

An additional layer of this collaboration is the partnership with natural fabric dye aficionado Crystal Lee of Project Coal, who uses popular Indian ingredients such as henna, pomegranate and tea to create limited edition Furoshiki bottle wrap cloths.

From 1 to 31 May 2023, these limited-edition furoshiki cloths will be available as a complimentary gift with any purchase of Bruichladdich The Classic Laddie Single Malt on Lazada or Shopee. The cost price of the cloth (S$55) will be donated to ItsRainingRaincoats, a Singapore charity that aims to build bridges of integration between migrant workers and residents of Singapore.
