Chocolate is not usually the choice for pairing when it comes to gin, it is a common perception that these two things never match. Local chocolatier Ning Geng Ng, however, is up for the challenge.
After our first GinRum.Me Mini Me stint last year at Mrs Jones Parlour, where Ning paired three chocolates with three different gins, we wanted more, and the revolutionary chocolatier obliged.
Our partner bar is none other than Omakase + Appreciate, where Karl Too is co-owner. Karl won the GinRum.Me Cocktail Competition held on the day of the festival itself at Jaya One on 6th July. His festival cocktail, Fresh Berry Float with Caorunn Gin, scored the highest and in the speed rack round, he finished making the seven classics with ease in the fastest time.
Meet both mavericks of their fields in this event and let them bring you on an unchartered journey of pairing. Savour Ning’s chocolates using cacao from the aboriginal farmers of Pahang, and cocktails by Karl with Caorunn Gin. Limited space available. A surprise tasting will also be revealed at the event.
