Mochiya Fine Foods at Rivercity launched their warehouse sale on 31 January 2024. It is available to the public from 11am-5pm from 31 Jan - 2 Feb. Mochiya is a purveyor of premium seafood, frozen and flown, Wagyu as well as many varieties of sake from Japan.

What we have tasted an recommend:

1. Shime Saba (Mackerel) - lightly pickled mackerel, a firm oily fish, with light acidity - good for sashimi and as an appetizer
2. House-made Wagyu Leek Gyozas - 100% wagyu & leek gyozas
3. A5 Wagyu slices & yakitori - all available pre-cut and packaged
4. Sasaki Koto Junmai Ginjo (Kyoto) - light, slightly savoury, crisp with 63% polishing
5. Sasaki Koto Tokobetsu Junmai (Kyoto) - medium-bodied, clean with 60% polishing
6. Sasaki Koto Junmai Daiginjo (Kyoto) - slightly sweeter, clean and smoother with 60% polishing

All of the above sakes and food items are available at discounted prices during this warehouse sale alongside many other items. Their aim is to directly provide premium items for the home cook as well as restaurants with an online ordering and delivery system.

They also have a Sake Lab, where you can book a sake tasting for up to 15 pax and enjoy recommendations from their friendly staff.

Mochiya also provides Homakase, an omakase experience curated according to your needs, right in your own home. Enquiries can be made at their site mochiyafinefoods.com and the experience can be catered to your budget, size of group & types of items you would like to have. For an additional fee, you can also get a chef and a sommelier to elevate your dining experience.
