Oeno Wine Lounge: A Luxurious Wine Experience in the Heart of KL

Nestled within the serene Bamboo Hills by UOA Group lies one of Kuala Lumpur's latest dining destinations. The modern-Zen enclave hosts numerous F&B outlets, with an impressive waterfall feature visible from both sides of the highway. Its meticulously landscaped surroundings and architectural design provide a refreshing escape from the city's hustle and bustle.

Potager, Chef Masashi Horiuchi's latest venture of Entier fame, stands as an architectural marvel. A stand-alone establishment, it greets patrons with a winding stone path amidst lush bamboo trees, leading to a reception area encircling a glass-walled garden designed by Sputnik Forest (@sputnikforest), serving as the focal point.

The dining room, featuring an open kitchen, maximizes natural light and offers views of the herb garden and custom outdoor dehydrators, aligning with sustainable practices to reduce carbon footprints and energy consumption. The venue's thoughtful design elements, including the gradient-levelled ceiling, create an airy and spacious ambiance.

Reservations for dinner at Potager require a 48-hour advance booking, offering an impressive wine list boasting 380+ labels and approximately 1000 bottles, with additional selections in the pipeline.

In contrast, their newly launched wine lounge, Oeno, offers an intimate and walk-in experience. Opening at 6 pm, aligning with the restaurant's hours, it's the perfect spot to unwind with tapas and an extensive selection of wines, sake, liquor, and champagne, resting only on Tuesdays.

For enthusiasts looking to savour curated wines by Group Sommelier Dennis Chong (@dennis.msomm), Thursdays present Tipples & Tapas. For RM200, patrons enjoy 3 tapas and 3 glasses of wine, personally selected by Dennis, reflecting terroir-driven, low-intervention winemaking methods, featuring a selection from Switzerland to Chateau Lafite's luxurious classics.

The three pairings we tried were:

1. Terroir al Limit, Terra de Cuques Blanc 2021 - a fruity white, perfect with Beef Rillette, gherkins & pickled mustard seeds.
2. Terroir al Limit, Terra de Cuques Negre 2018 - a complex red complementing Josper Grilled Octopus with capers & chorizo.
3. Lopez de Heredia, Vina Bosconia Reserva 2011 - an earthy Rioja, ideal for the Eggplant & black garlic dip with house-made grilled sourdough.

The wine and tapas pairings change bi-monthly, offering guests an ever-evolving tasting experience at the elegant Oeno Lounge.

Tipples & Tapas Thursday commences at 6 pm, featuring 3 wines and 3 tapas at RM200 each.
