Recently opened at The Place @ Cyberjaya (next to Lim Kok Wing University), they have an excellent selection of craft beers from around the world: Westvleteren, Deschutes, Stone Brewing, Brewdog, Little Creatures…all your favourites are here, in all your favourite styles. Young Masters has set up their urban-baba nyonya fusion concept in TTDI and it’s a great place for after work hang outs or weekend (or weeknight, we won’t judge) partying. Quietly running since mid-October, they have happy hour specials, beer pong tables for games and entertainment – they’re starting up an inhouse beer pong league soon, so get practising – and they play different music genres every night, so there’s something here for everyone.

Technically opened at the end of September, we still feel Yu by Ruyi deserves an honourable mention here. The is the latest addition to the RUYI & LYN family, offering pork-free Chinese cuisine in an intimate dining space on the ground floor of the Gardens Mall. Stop in for fresh dim sum and high tea, and their great selection of organic wines, boutique liquors, bird’s nest cocktails, and limited edition champagnes. For the more serious drinkers, pop into the cosy cocktail bar for the Cocktail Omakase (Tues 8pm and Sat 2pm) with bartender Zeff Osman for three premium crafted cocktails paired with light bites at only RM50++ per person (limited to five people per session).

Taking over the rooftop at the iconic Ann Siang House is their newest outlet THE OTHER ROOF, where they shift their focus to tea-based spirits and cocktails, and gourmet bites (like charcuterie, cheeses, oysters, and sliders, plus vegetarian options). Tea leaves are sourced from around the world, and the team makes bespoke blends that form the base of their drinks programme – they’re all unique to the bar and available to purchase.
