Borneo Restaurant & Bar

Shaking up the rather predictable scene that is Bangsar with the flavours of East Malaysia, Borneo Restaurant & Bar is both innovative and traditional. Their menu is one of a kind and includes amazing plates of Olive Pork Kolo Mee, Borneo Grilled Chicken, and Kong Pia, made with fresh ingredients flown over from Borneo itself. Whilst not forgetting their bar specialities of in-house crafted gin cocktails like Four Pillars Rare Dry Gin with finger lime, or Opihr Oriental Spiced Gin with Sarawak black pepper, coriander, and lime, and this wouldn’t be an East Malaysian joint without the limited edition artisanal Tuak. The place is cosy (seating 40 pax), so book in advance online.

The Old Man Singapore

The first international branch of award-winning The Old Man Hong Kong has landed in Keong Saik Road, Singapore, spreading the love for Ernest Hemingway’s classic story The Old Man and the Sea (and also his drinking habits). Much like the flagship in HK, here you’ll find nine innovative cocktails with an Asian twist, inspired by Hemingway’s favourite drinks and named after his novels. Sit yourself down at their I-shaped bar with its unique chilled plate that runs the length of the bar to keep your drinks cold, and prepare to learn a little about The Old Man himself.
