Finally, Kuala Lumpur gets a new hangout spot that's not air-conditioned and in a mall. Located in the Bukit Bintang area, surrounded by the hustle and bustle of local eateries and bars, hotel Kuala Lumpur Journal is like an oasis in the middle of it all. On its 11th floor is the newly launched The Swimming Club, a laid-back millennial-dedicated heaven.
It's officially welcoming guests this month with its retro old Penang meets Wes Anderson aesthetics. Even if you don't want to swim or grab a glass of cocktail (but really?), you'd want to visit The Swimming Club for its splashes of colours, floral motifs, neon signs and the rooftop view of KL city. You can thank local designer Cassey Gan, who recently showed her latest collection at KLFW18, for the mismatched prints seen on the furniture.
Did we mention that the pool is a saltwater infinity pool? Yeah, now you'd definitely want to stick around and take a dip. If you're thirsty, try the cocktail bar's signatures such as Assam Boi Mojito, Kafir Lime Margarita and Rooftop Cucumber Lemonade. The bar offers a selection of beer, boutique wines, spirits, non-alcoholic beverages as well as juices. There are snacks too like the Journal Burger, Poolside Katsu Bun and the Classic Caesar Salad.
There'll be a 1-for-1 cocktail promotion from 4pm to 7pm daily in conjunction with its official opening on 1st September 2018. The Swimming Club will also have themed parties and activities so follow them on Facebook and Instagram for updates!
