Owned and run by the multiple barista championship winner, Top Brew Coffee Bar is open for coffee lovers who want their coffee the way the like it and to learn more about their cuppa.

The long coffee bar with stools alongside is designed for observation and chit-chatting with the barista. You can check out the espresso machine, look at the steps of how your cuppa is prepared and most importantly, a live show of latte art. That makes up to their signature drink at Top Brew – Latte Art Coffee.

Owner JH Yee is in his early twenties with a passion for making good coffee and serving customers who will leave the café with a smile. At this young age, Yee said he has gained a lot of experience in his coffee journey, making great friends and meeting his partner, Evon Tan who also helps out in the café during weekend. After returning as the second runner up from the Food and Hotel Asia Barista Championship 2012, Yee decided it was time to move forward in his barista career and open his own café.

Top Brew Coffee Bar opened its door on 28 July 2012. The bar mainly serves coffee and the concept focuses on its coffee quality and barista skills. The café uses Nuova Simonelli Aurelia II espresso machine and beans from Lighthouse Coffee and Longan Blend. Top Brew occasionally roast their own beans according to the season and they also provide workshops for those who are interested to learn more about coffee making and bean roasting for amateurs.

Currently the café also serves Dilmah tea varieties, sandwiches, home-made cakes and muffins. Their latest on the menu is Belgium Waffles and if you are lucky, you might get to try a piece of it if you are there during their R&D session.

The café is spacious with a cozy ambience. There is always space for parking alongside the shops for the building is still quite a new development and spaces are not fully occupied yet.

My best time to visit Top Brew Coffee Bar is when it is rainy outside, sitting in the café and watching the rain with a hot cuppa in hand – tranquillity.
