Whisky Cove

The Pavilion Hotel Kuala Lumpur has pride of place right at the entrance of Bukit Bintang, rubbing shoulders with luxury boutiques and neighbouring hotels, among the buzzing life of KL’s Golden Triangle.

Carefully perched on floor 7M is the Whisky Cove, their self-proclaimed ‘haven for whisky lovers’. It’s every inch what you would expect from a sophisticated hotel bar: dark wood panelling, leather chairs, plush sofas, and a cool marble bar, with a view overlooking the hubbub of downtown KL. The bar divides into smaller spaces, with nooks and crannies for assembling with your friends, and a super private room for intimate gatherings perfect for escaping from the outside world.

The selection here is comprehensive, with a regional and international collection numbering in the hundreds of everything from single malts to blended whiskies, plus a few other bar standards (gin, rum, wine, coffee and tea) in case you get a bit bored with your malts. Tasting flights are also available should you find yourself with time to spare and in an adventurous mood. The bar menu also features a decent variety of bites from Ebisu, the hotel’s Japanese restaurant, like edamame, tori teriyaki, soft-shell crab maki, and a sushi and sashimi platter.
