Singapore welcomes another gin bar in the happening Boat Quay area – located right above Penny Black, beGIN is a fun and eclectic space that serves up contemporary British-Indian small plates and boasts a collection of over 50 gins from around the world (including Singaporean brands like Tanglin Gin and Brass Lion Distillery).

For first timers looking to dip their feet into the world of gin, there’s a tasting flight at SG$28 with samples of Genever, Hayman’s Old Tom Gin, Tanqueray, and Hendrick’s to get you up to speed. From there you can proceed to their specialty cocktails, like the signature Jagmohan (a curry and clove spiced tequila mix, served on a platter with fried chips and chutney), the floral Lavender, the creamy matcha concoction Yuki, and a rum and espresso cocktail Koko – all of which can be paired with their British-Indian bar bites like Samboo-sa pasties, Nacho Del Goa, and the Crab Bomb-a.

The bar comes alive on weekend nights with their regular Fennel Fridays and Sloe Saturdays, featuring DJs to soundtrack your wind down.
