Where to celebrate Oktoberfest

If you’re in despair because there hasn’t been an Oktoberfest for the past 2 years, then be sad no more. The Bavarian festival is going to be celebrated all over town this year  with parties and promotions, including on the famous mountain for entertainment (and in a neighbouring country).

Here is our list of places to go for 1litre mug and Bavarian beers!

  1. Oktoberfest Asia (Singapore)

Oktoberfest Asia is back for the 7th year for a full on celebration of the festival with München band Rock Oompahs from Munich, traditional German Oktoberfest music with a rock twist and beers and munches. Only an hour flight away, the celebration lasts for two days with a family day slotted in on Sunday.

  1. Genting Starlight Carnival

This year, Carlsberg have brought their Oktoberfest up the mountain to the Genting Starlight Carnival. The celebration takes place every Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Find 18 types of beer in the Oktoberfest Hall and foods that go with them. Everyone is a tourist in Genting, so be prepared to book a room and splurge a little for a full-on party with Bavarian style dance and songs all the way.

  1. Launch of Concubine KL

Kwai Chai Hong will be covered in the Oktoberfest vibe with a party in conjunction with the outlet’s soft opening. There will be German beers and DJs for the night.

  1. Stratosphere Bavarian F&B Festival 2019

The two-day festival occupying the highest roof top bar in Bandar Utama will be have a BBQ, premium beer booth, lederhosen-clad waitresses, games and plenty of activities. A festival mug and beer will come at RM60.

  1. Authentic German Oktoberfest experience at Brotzeit

For the whole month of October, the two Brotzeit outlets will be decorated in the mood for Oktoberfest and serve two of six official Oktoberfest beers, Hacker-Pschorr Oktoberfest Märzen and Paulaner Oktoberfest Bier, best paired with the Oktoberfest platter which comes with pork knuckle, pork ribs and pork sausages that serves 4.

  1. Oktoberfest food challenge

Pair your favourite choice of sausages with a pint of Hoegaarden or Asahi for RM128 nett. Choose from Nürnberger (8 pieces), Chicken Debreziner Sausages (3 pieces) and Polish Chicken Krakauer (3 pieces), all available with sides. The platter comes with 3 different types of sausages (540g), potato salad (250g), sauerkraut (250g), 3 pretzels and 3 pints of either Hoegaarden or Asahi, all for RM338.   1. Oktoberfest Beer Tasting at Jasons Food Hall

Jasons Food Hall is throwing a 2-hour beer tasting party with imported beers such as Erdinger, Franziskaner, Konig Ludwig, Lowenbrau, and Warsteiner for one day at their Bangsar Shopping Centre outlet. Spend a minimum of RM150 in a single receipt at the supermarket to get one entry ticket.
